ABOUT KALADHAARA

Kaladhaara, is a nonprofit registered dance Academy in Sacramento (US) to impart quality Indian classical performing arts (dance and music) for the holistic development of children living abroad. Kaladhaara organizes yearly workshops and annual performance to show case up and coming talents. Kaladhaara nurtures the talent in each student and customises lessons to the best of each students' capability to drive them to their milestone debuts and pre-debut performances by the students. we have organized several workshops and demonstrations of visiting artists from India who add value to the learning of art form. Some of our recent thematic productions Radhe Shyama (2014), Vandemataram (2015) Raghuvamsa (2016) to name a few received rave reviews from viewers and local art patron has brought in riveting success.

Established in 2001 as the brain child of Mathura Viswanathan (Artistic Director), Kaladhaara is one of the premier dance institutes of the Greater Sacramento area.

The modest aim of Kaladhaara is to enrich and invigorate the lives of individuals from diverse backgrounds, through the prism of Bharatanatyam learning forms, provide a dedicated platform to bridge the cultural gaps and establish a venue to demystify the ancient traditional tenets of Natyshastra through the freedom of expressions and pave the way for students to tap into their innate abilities, hone their artistic skills and ultimately gain mastery over this nuanced and traditional Indian dance form.

Kaladhaara invites esteemed performing artists of various classical art forms from India and around the world, and hosts frequent performances, lectures, demonstrations and workshops.
